If you haven't heard of Phineas and Ferb, you either have no children or you have no life. Either way, you still should get to know these Disney-channel stars. After all, their eponymous, animated TV show has been #1 among tweens (ages 9-14) for three years running. So, it's about time the boys got their own feature-length, direct to DVD film--thus the debut of the fabulous and fun adventure that is Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dminension.

When Phineas and Ferb (and their pet platypus, Perry) crash land in the lab of evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz, they unwittingly help him create an awesome Otherdimensionator. Using this machine, they (and Perry) catapult into an alternate dimension (the 2nd Dimension) where they find other versions of themselves and their world--even their meddling big sister, Candace (voiced with joyful abandon by High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale).

What's worse is that another version of evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz is there--and unlike his counterpart on our world, this one's actually successful.

Now it's up to our intrepid heroes, Phineas, Ferb, Perry, and the others, to thwart the evil-evil Doofenshmirtz and find a way to safely return to their real home/dimension. Along the way we're treated to many comic moments: Doofenshmirtz-1 and Doofenshmirtz-2 singing a duet in the personas of famous pairs (Lucy and Ethel anyone?), an inside-joke reference (for parents) about 1970s TV show "The Jeffersons,'" and the triumphant return of pretty much every wacky invention Phineas and Ferb have created in their long-running TV series.

In short, Phineas and Ferb The Movie is everything you'd hope it would be: Funny, action-packed, filled with creativity, fun songs, and offbeat humor--and with just enough heart to make a grown man smile. There aren't many better ways to spend 90 minutes watching TV, so enjoy this one with the whole family. You'll be glad you did.

The "Ultimate Fan Pack" edition includes DVD and digital copy of the film (for your iPad or other portable media device). Bonus features include "deleted" scenes, music video, sing-along, on-screen "Jukebox-inator" to play the 8-song soundtrack separately, and a cartoon short, "Attack of the 50 Foot Sister."
