Deathlok #1
Marvel Comics
by Nathan Edmondson and Mike Perkins
Reader Appeal: Teens and Adults
Genre: Fantasy / Superhero
Quick Pick:
It’s another resurrection at Marvel Comics, this time bringing back the 1970s cyborg-killer/hero: Deathlok. After a star turn on the hit TV show, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it seems only natural to find him in comics’ pages again. Deathlok #1 introduces the new hero/villain, Henry Hayes. Most days he’s a warmhearted single dad and “Medic without Borders.” When his mind-controllers at Biotek call, though, he becomes a mind-wiped military assassin wreaking havoc worldwide.
Parents should know that Deathlok #1 earns its T+ (15 and up) rating because of graphic violence.
