Justin Update

It's been awhile since I have updated on Justin!  He really is doing fantastic with a few glitches if you would call them that.  He did really well after his Cytoxan for about a month and right around the holidays his little body decided to start spilling protein again.  His doctor happened to be the one on call so I was able to stay in contact with him on a daily basis, giving...

Last month was such a special one, it was birthday time for Aly!

Yes, our oldest turned 15, which means she now has a driving permit! It was a fun day.  My parents were in town and were able to participate in our many festivities. On the kids birthdays they get to pick the meals for the day so we started the day with a breakfast of pumpkin squares.  I took Aly to the mall a few days before her birthday and she was able to pick out all of her...

Rylee had a birthday, shout hooray!

Rylee turned eight on December 18, 2011.  What a great eight years we have had with her so far.  My kids only get birthday parties on certain years and this year happened to be a year for Rylee. She got an American Girl doll for her birthday.  We figured since we “never buy them for her because they are too expensive and only Santa will bring them to her” we would get her one this...

Grant me patience Lord, but hurry…..

This cute little saying is on a mug that my mom has and I remember it back when I was just a little girl. It is actually something I would love to have when they don’t want or need it anymore. My name used to be on the bottom of it, but somehow it got washed away!!! Anyway, I think patience is something I am going to be trying to learn my whole life. Justin’s appointment went fairly...

The Gingerbread House

Every year my parents, sisters and brother and their families get together and have a Gingerbread House Showdown!  We live too far away and we haven’t been able to participate, but this year some of the kids really wanted to decorate one and so the journey began. I think next year I may try to make the gingerbread myself so each of the kids can decorate their own.  Maybe we can have a...

Thanksgiving

This year was a nice break in the Thanksgiving department. We were honored to be able to head to Wellsville for a nice dinner and some fun games. I only wish I could have gotten some pictures of game time.  Four the boys played Four-Man Chess (my least favorite tradition) while the rest of the gang played a great game of “Curses” (great family/friend game). Thanks to Travis and...

Nephrotic Syndrome Update

Justin has been off ALL medications for about a week now and is doing great.  He has a follow up appointment with his nephrologist on Monday (12/5) and hopefully we will still be reporting good news. His protein count has been steady at “trace” for almost a full week and although I would prefer “negative” – I’ll take it. Thank you for all the prayers in his beh

It came early this year!

The Christmas season seemed to come before Thanksgiving this year with the first snow fall happening beginning to mid November.  Rylee and Justin don’t tend to get along all that well usually so when I found them out playing in the snow together (for hours) it was a site to behold. I love when they get creative and most of all I love to hear the laughter that comes from it...
