Justin Update

I am becoming quite lax on getting pictures up, but need to make sure I type the text so I don’t forget what is going on.
Justin is doing quite well. He had a nephrology visit yesterday after a great trip to AZ. We have known that his protein count has been fluctuating a bit and were anxious to get in to see what the doc had to say.
In a nutshell he has the following:
high blood pressure – being watched for six weeks
weight gain – again being watched until next visit
minimal protein in urine – once again, being watched until next time
He is done with Prednisone and is half way through Cytoxan. By his next visit he should be done or about done with it. Boy does time fly when your having fun!
The doc was pretty certain that he would not fully relapse while on the Cytoxan, but we did discuss our options if he does relapse as soon as he goes off of it. I guess it is good to prepare for the just in cases. If his blood pressure remains high, we will have to look at a medication for that and then our other options would be either a trial of other meds such as Cellcept or Tacrolimus or go to kidney biopsy to determine if there is anything else going on.

sweet boy. I think I feel better about the situation, but I can’t tell. 6 weeks and we will be glad to know more. Tell him we miss him already!

It was so fun seeing you guys. Looking forward to hearing Mr Justin is doing better soon. He is such a smiley kid for going thru so much. He rocks.
